A love of wine and beer

Rivesaltes, the "muscatel capital of the world": famous for its natural sweet wines, but also a producer of craft beers!

Situated between the Pyrenees (to the south) and Corbières (to the north) mountain ranges, Rivesaltes is swept by the tramontane (a dry wind from the north) and enjoys a dry, sunny climate all year round. An ideal location for the production of excellent wines.

Our label wines

Our wines are world-renowned for their quality.

  • The "Rivesaltes" PDO: This appellation makes the town whose name it bears famous! Along with the villages of Maury and Banyuls, Rivesaltes is one of the French capitals of Vins Doux Naturels, of which this PDO is a part.
  • Muscat de Rivesaltes PDO: The town is world-famous for its Muscat, another type of Vin Doux Naturel, which is exported all over France!
  • The "Côtes du Roussillon Villages" PDO: Rivesaltes and 50 other communes in the Agly Valley and Fenouillèdes (north of the département) produce this red wine appellation, which is the pride of its villages.
  • The "Côtes du Roussillon" PDO: 102 communes in the Pyrénées-Orientales, including Rivesaltes, exploit the vast natural amphitheater of the Roussillon plain to produce this appellation in a range of different wines.
  • The "Côtes Catalanes" PGI: The town and 117 other surrounding communes in the Pyrénées-Orientales produce this range, which covers the whole of the department's vineyards!

Our wine merchants

In our town, you'll find passionate and exciting wine merchants.

  • Domaine Boudau: This family-run winery has been in existence for 100 years - that's 4 generations! Today, the reputation of Domaine Boudau, run by brothers Véronique and Pierre, is well established: their wines are regularly recognized and rewarded by the greatest wine tasters (15 medals obtained in 2022!).
  • Maison Cazes: Maison Cazes has been cultivating vines in Rivesaltes since 1895. A true pioneer in the production and marketing of Roussillon wines, Cazes has become a benchmark worldwide!
  • Mas Delmas: Mercedes and Pierre-André Delmas welcome you to their 15-hectare estate, which has been converted to organic farming and biodynamic viticulture, an approach that respects the environment and the vine's natural ecosystem.
  • Domaine de Rombeau: This now emblematic Rivesaltes estate has belonged to the de La Fabrègue family for several centuries. The history of Rombeau is a story of passionate people who, each in their own way, have contributed to making their wines a benchmark, like adding stones to a building.

  • Domaine du lycée: An agricultural school established in Rivesaltes in 1950, which became an Établissement Public Local d'Enseignement Agricole in 1995. For many decades now, students, trainees and apprentices have been training on the estate to acquire the professional know-how needed to master the various techniques involved in agricultural jobs. Their tasting and sales cellar is there for you to discover and appreciate the fruits of the joint labor of the school's instructors, employees and students.
  • Arnaud de Villeneuve: The 220 winegrowers who today bear the name Maison Arnaud de Villeneuve are the heirs of those who, as early as 1909 in Salses-le-Château, began to unite and develop cooperative wineries in the heart of each village. "Arnau de Vilanova" was a 12th-century Catalan physician who taught at the University of Montpellier. It was he who devised the recipe for an original wine, which the Roussillon winegrowers improved over time, culminating in the Vins Doux Naturels for which they are famous.
  • Le Clos des Fées: "Le Clos des Fées is a plot of vines where fairies would live, if they existed. The place is very isolated, very beautiful, very wild, very romantic and inspired us to give it this name". The words of winemaker Hervé (formerly a writer, top sommelier and restaurateur) set the scene for the essence of this estate: a passion for wine, a diversity of terroirs, respect for nature and a success story written over oak barrels.
  • PRODISTER: It stands for PROduits DIStribution TERroirs. This family-run company specializing in wine trading and beverage distribution was founded in 1989 by Henry Sabater, a native Catalan with a passion for the region's terroir-based products.
